Events at the Café

As part of our commitment to the local community, we would like to offer the Café facilities to selected local groups or societies wishing to organise or hold events. The interior is fully air conditioned and well lit and the surroundings are beautiful. Naturally, food and refreshments are available from our extensive menu for those taking part.

For more information on holding an event, please contact us by email or telephone, using the details on the 'Contact' page.

Steam Rides

Organised by Tim Sollesse and run under the auspices of Audax UK, the London-Oxford-London Series of Steam Rides are cycling events linking railway sites between London and Oxford. The longest of these is a 200km round trip although various shorter stages are also included.

The Café has been used both as a breakfast 'filling station' and as the official check-in and departure point for the start of the L-O-L rides. This meant an early start for the riders and an even earlier start for the Café staff!

Art Sessions

A series of life drawing / painting sessions periodically took place in the Café. Sessions were normally held on a weekday morning with each session being limited to a maximum of 10 people. Dates were published via the News and Information feed on the Our Cafe page.

Please note that for events of this type, volatile solvent based paints and other products are not permitted. Only refreshments purchased from the Café may be consumed.

Holding Events

If you would like to organise or hold an event at the Café, please get in touch!

We do ask that your event doesn't prevent our other customers from also enjoying the Café. Terms and conditions apply.
